Michelin-star trained chef, Wandile Mabaso, partners with Le Diner en Blanc Johannesburg 2018
Le Diner en Blanc is synonymous with terms such as elegance, luxury and exclusivity and the world’s favourite pop up dinner now embraces these elements by introducing a world-class culinary experience in the form of Michelin-star trained chef, Wandile Mabaso.
Wandile, a South African born chef, has travelled the world in his career learning from culinary masters in the United States and most recently under Alain Ducasse at the Le Meurice in Paris. Chef Wandile has deeply entrenched roots in the fine art and expert techniques used in French cuisine and has been dubbed by Ducasse himself, “The ambassador of French cuisine to South Africa.”
“I am less concerned with the limelight but rather with allowing the quality of what comes out of my kitchen to speak for itself. The alignment with Diner en Blanc and myself speaks to taking traditional dining to new levels without sacrificing on the quality of the experience and allowing for new innovative food experiences to come to the fore,” states Chef Wandile, “Diner en Blanc gives a wide scale access to French food cooked at the highest level, rather than the elite few that can afford it.”
On his return to South Africa, Chef Wandile recently bought the majority shareholding in the SA Culinary Club in Bryanston, Johannesburg and will be hosting the by-invitation media and VIP preview of what the 5th Edition of Diner en Blanc in Johannesburg is going to offer. Similar to the standard of dishes served on the night, these will then be available for those ticket holders to purchase on the E-store to be enjoyed on the evening of the 29th of September.
